Location
Esporles is a charming mountain village at the foot of the Sierra de Tramuntana, about 15 minutes from Palma and 20 minutes from the airport. The picturesque town offers Majorcan charm at its best with its typical stone facades and romantic alleyways. The most well-known attraction around Esporles is undoubtedly "Sa Granja", an impressive historic mansion and museum dating back to Roman times and the island's feudal past. The village is divided into Old town (Vilavella) and New town (Vilanova) and is particularly popular with nature lovers and locals, as it isn’t on the typical tourist trail. Esporles is the ideal place to practice outdoor sports; hiking, cycling, canoeing and climbing are all typical leisure activities for this region. There is also a busy calendar of small events and fiestas with the most famous being the annual pastry food festival in October.
