This masterpiece was a collaboration between Cecile & Boyd interior design and SAOTA architecture. This 5 level home is accessed via Kloof Road. With extra high ceilings,  all windows and doors are floor to ceiling and all levels of the house are connected via a sculptural timber staircase. Sliding glass doors have electric blinds to protect against afternoon sun.

The home is an arrangement of staggered blocks that rise along the side of the mountain. The lower part of the building is an independent apartment. The living level is set back to follow the slope of the mountain, resulting in added privacy and acoustic buffering while creating the perception that one is on a platform, connected to the surrounding views. The uppermost level, the master bedroom, sits above the tree-tops and use of skylights express a feeling of openness.
