Maggi Thornhill

Born in Manchester, England Maggi Thornhill made her first visit to Whistler in the early 80s and immediately fell in love with the area. She knew then that at some point it would attract the world and it wasn’t long before plans were in the works to move across the pond. In February 1983 she and her family landed on the west coast and a year after they moved to Whistler in 1988, she got her real estate license and launched one of the most successful real estate careers the area has ever seen.

Whistler was only a winter resort at the time, a destination for wealthy Vancouver families who made the trip on weekends to their second home. By the end of the ski season in April, they would lock up their cabins until the following season. Summer traffic was unheard of.

In October 2007 the Thornhill Real Estate Group was born, and while success didn’t happen overnight for Whistler’s top Realtor, over time she’s achieved some staggering milestones. Over $3 billion in total sales. She sold the highest priced home in Whistler’s history for $17.5M in 2007. More homes sold at all price points than any agent in Whistler’s history, and a record $320M in residential property sales in 2017.

In September 2018 the decision was made to align with Engel & Völkers. This allowed Maggi to focus on her local, family-owned business, while benefitting from a larger network of more than 11,000 real estate professionals through 800 shops around the globe. This network brings with it business resources and infrastructure second to none, and enabled her to prioritize providing exceptional service to all of her clients.

With a team of 37 advisors working within the brokerage she shares with her son Max, Maggi Thornhill is in a good place. Some might even say the best place on earth.
